Historic excerpt from the Millennium Interview with Sri Chinmoy

Excerpt from a 2001 interview with Sri Chinmoy hosted by Dr. Russell Barber, former Religion and Ethics Editor at NBC-TV. Sri Chinmoy answers the question, "What happens down the road when the time comes for you to retire or be called to the Father?"

Filmed at my home in Westhampton, NY, his visit that day was among the great honors of my life with Sri Chinmoy.

Thanks for uploading this video. I remember seeing it many years ago and was trying to remember what Guru said.

It requires great humility to live all the time in the present moment and leave the future in the hands of God.

Alas, our minds are prone to planning, worrying and speculating.

It reminds me of the immortal injunction in the Bhagavad Gita where Krishna tells his beloved Arjuna. "Be Thou a mere instrument."

Dear Shambu, thank you for posting this video, which our mutual friend and brother, Blazej, brought promptly to my attention. It is beautiful and sincerely comforting. I needed it. I am one of those who, like you, is grieving and sobbing and grieving and sobbing and also being so beautifully optimistic about the future, and joyful, too. All at once. We are all getting tremendous comfort and courage from you and others in our community, and yet others in the wider community of love and action that this man,
Sri Chinmoy, represents.

May I say how proud of you I am and how grateful to you. The promptness with which you have brought the glory of Sri Chinmoy and his passing to others is one of your trademarks. Here on your web site you have a rich collection for people to browse.

And, Shambu, I am extremely grateful for your vision. I have ideas, but you have a great and solid vision of where this man's life can go in its continuing, living form, which outlasts his death. God bless you and keep you going down (running fast!) your sacred life path.

Last but not least, let us give gratitude for the fine influence you had on both of my sons. You adopted them as a true older borther should

Your brother,

Nayak

For all those who have struggled with Sri Chnimoy's passing, this interview is invaluable.
To hear in his own words how his mission would play out is very comforting. More so, to see the delight in his eyes as he speaks of it is a blessing. Confirms the unparalleled delight he now enjoys, and how we how mourn must find and keep the sparkle of this joy.
much gratitude

Dearest Shambhu:
How can we ever thank you enough for posting this immortal video which is destined to play the most important role... to serve as a guiding light for Sri Chinmoy's many students who are crying and searching for direction in their lives. To hear these words instills in us the confidence to know that we are those beautiful flowers which shall not be neglected by it's creator. AUM TAT SAT

Once again Guru has surprised us all. I had a few dreams before his passing which braced me for the event. It has been very similar to the feeling when my father died, with a great sense of loss. We all owe him much for what he has done for us and as a community of souls can help each other through this, and help to spread his light. Love, Prakash

Dear Shambu,

Thanks a lot for this video, I sent a link to other friends and it was also projected during one of our European spiritual gatherings where at least 700 people saw it!
Thanks once again, may God bless you with further creative energy!

I am glad that i saw this video, because my first reaction was to ask if guru left any realized disciple to continue a line of teachers like other Masters.
Here Guru expresses his loving unconditional surrender to Our Beloved Lord Supreme, the Creator of all and the true Inner Pilot in charge of his mission from day one.
Iam sure many of his disciples will be used as divine instruments by the Inner Pilot. We need to keep the hope, faith and love.

Thank you , Drona
