The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is finally launching a review of wireless-phone safety following a recently published study that raised concerns about a heightened risk of brain cancer. It only makes sense that heavy cell phone ussage might be harmful so no surprise here.Swedish National Institute for Working Life researchers recently compared data from 2,200 cancer patients and an equal number of healthy patients. Those who heavily used wireless phones had a 240 percent increased risk of a cancerous tumor on the side of the head where they used their phone, they reported. Heavy use is defined as about an hour a day for six years.
Who is studying the impact of sitting 12 hours a day in front of an electronic computer screen, or plopping a laptop on your lap for hours on end? Maybe it's time to go into the electronic radio wave prevention business.
